West Virginia Mountain Apple Cobbler For Dogs

West Virginia’s food is as sweet as its people. Friendly greetings and a welcoming spirit makes the mountains even more beautiful. One of West Virginia’s prizes are its Golden Delicious apples. Anderson Mullins discovered the Golden Delicious in 1912. This aromatic apple is a great, all purpose apple and is the second most popular apple in the United States.

To pay tribute to our short stay in West Virginia, we made a treat that you can eat with your dog. But we kept the recipe simple, because its better to spend your time exploring this great state and all that is has to offer!

Remember, make sure ALL seeds from the apple are removed and discarded.

3 large, sliced, Golden Delicious apples
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1/4 cup olive oil

Place sliced apples in the bottom of a greased 8×8 baking pan. Mix flour, maple syrup, cinnamon and egg until it looks coarse. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Let cool completely before serving to your dog. Leftover portions may be refrigerated for up to three days or frozen for up to two months.
