2 Traveling Dogs Peanut Butter And Strawberry Biscuits

It’s no secret that active dogs are happy dogs.  Peanut Butter Brickle and Digby Pancake of 2 Traveling Dogs hike miles daily combined with many naps, and yes, snacks!

When we saw the new, gluten-free flour blend mix from Pillsbury, we were inspired to create a fun and easy snack for the upcoming holiday weekend.  Combined with Smucker’s simple Fruit & Honey Fruit Spread, this recipe is simply paw-lickin good!  We won’t blame you if you share!

Why do we love this new flour blend from Pillsbury?  The ingredients are simple.  A Blend of Rice Flour, Potato Starch, Pea Fiber, Tapioca Starch and Xantham Gum.  All are dog friendly ingredients.  Where has this been all our lives?  And what about the Smucker’s® Fruit & Honey Strawberry Fruit Spread? What is not to love?  Strawberries are dog friendly and we always want to leave out the sugar for dogs.  But don’t despair, they have honey in there!  Pawsome!  Ok, and the peanut butter.  No biscuit recipe would be complete for our boys without peanut butter.  Smucker’s leaves out the salt.  Again, four paws up!

2 cups Pillsbury™ Best® Multi-Purpose Gluten Free Flour Blend
1 cup unsweetened cashew milk
1/2 cup Smucker’s® Natural Creamy Peanut Butter With No Salt Added
1/2 cup Smucker’s® Fruit & Honey Strawberry Fruit Spread
1/3 cup organic coconut oil
1/3 cup rolled oats
3 tablespoons additional Smucker’s® Fruit & Honey Strawberry Fruit Spread

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl until well mixed.

Knead dough into small, rounded balls and indent hole in middle. Fill holes with jam.

Bake for 20 minutes until slightly browned on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Leave in oven for an hour or overnight for crunchy biscuits or take out to cool for softer biscuits.

Make this Labor Day weekend one to remember.  Get outside with your dog, enjoy nature and being together!
