Cheeseburger Pie For Dogs and People

The magic of a cheeseburger in pie form?  It is true. This is a recipe that although nostalgic is versatile and one that we were excited to pull out of our recipe box. But how could we make this healthier and dog friendly?

With the recipe below, you can even add some turkey bacon on top for a bacon cheeseburger version, or lettuce and tomato.  (Just make sure to remove the leaves and stems due to toxicity for dogs. Plus, that wouldn’t taste good anyway!)  You can use any ground, lean meat for this recipe.  We choose to use lean, ground chicken to cut down on fat.  It’s all about moderation! If you choose to use beef, you may want to cook before adding to the pie to drain grease.
