A true and unique South Dakota dish, Chislic, cubed red meat (venison, lamb, deer or game) is usually deep-fried and salted. Many people mistake it for kebabs, but this is different. The recipe varies from region to region, but in order to make it dog friendly, we of course left out the salt and dehydrated the meat. We also marinated the meat in orange juice to tenderize it.
Ingredients
1 pound boneless steak or meat or red meat of your choice cut into 1-inch cubes
1 cup orange juice for marinating
Directions
Marinate meat in a zip-loc bag overnight. Discard juice and place meat on paper towels to soak up moisture.
Set your dehydrator at 165 degree and dry for 6 hours.
